Coconut and Sesame oils have natural SPF properties. This is my favorite homemade sunscreen recipe!

Ingredients:

-¼ cup coconut oil
-1 tsp sesame oil
-2 tbsp shea butter
-1 tsp aloe vera gel
-1.5 tbsp zinc oxide
-½ tsp Vitamin E (optional)

Directions:

1. Combine coconut oil, seseme oil, and shea butter in a double boiler (or an old glass container / mason jar) and slowly melt over low-medium heat.

2. Once melted, mix in aloe vera gel, zinc oxide, and vitamin E. Be very careful with Zinc Oxide as it can be messy!

3. Pour into a jar and store in a dark/cool location.

How to Use:

Rub into skin before going in the sun.

Notes:

-You can use liquid Vitamin E, or pierce a couple of capsules.
-If you prefer a harder sunscreen, then store this in the refrigerator as the coconut oil will harden below 76 degrees.
